    HI all

Whilst the Engineers are mainly here to test and verify the software following the huge change to the software platform, (This will benefit us greatly soon as it allows use of existing data from SPX) we should also get the chance to capture some data for new coverage/functions.

We are looking for most requested special functions, IE DPF regen on xxxx to get an idea of what to target first please.

    regards

    Andrew

volkswagen, audi, seat etc system is capable of a alot of special functions already. maybe a function list/adaption list with channel numbers documented could help users get the best from the brilliant v30 :)

Hi kinger could'nt agree more with the vag vehicles. Looked at a golf yesterday & it would have made thing's alot easier if i'd had the channel n.o's! What i don't understand is why the v30 has to adopt the same format as vag dlr tool when other manufactures using there engines have a simple data list read & actuator test function, no channel n.o's required?

    Hi Kinger

Volvo programming a dead end i feel, even Autologic cannot do this as it entails accessing Volvo database to build a software package unique to that car :(

Only option currently is using J2534 pass through device and a subscription to Volvo VIDA to buy software...

I am going to purchase a v30 very soon. have a few people in the local area, myself included, with mazda 6's. We all suffer the dreaded dpf light every whip and trip and regen/reset on these models would be a god send as its a huge problem nationwide as needs resetting after every oil change!

HI, we logged MAZDA 3 and 6 DPF reset/regen last week. The reset needed after a service on Diesel models is actually an "oil dilution" value reset, if this is not reset the DPF light comes on after 600 miles to warn the oil is diluted. (from the extra diesel injected during a regen).

This should be ready for release soon..

I'd love to see an option to use an "Autoboss standard layout", instead of every make having different names/layouts for everything. Makes it hard to use sometimes.

Hi Andrew is there any news on bringing more functions to the mazda 6 pre 2008 model as these are more popular in my area and had to send a couple to main dealer for servicing as still cant reset values?

    Thanks Neil.

I,m a fairly new user to the Autoboss. What I would like to see is an easier way of showing the VAG channels and take the mystery out of trying to find what I am looking for or what they mean. Even if it is a PDF file that we can download and print off for reference. That would be great. Otherwise I cannot fault the V30

    Thanks

    Hi,
I would love to be able to offer a list of channels/adaptions etc but it would take years to go through the ELSA database (8 x DVD,s) for each model/variant.

The ROSS TECH site has a lot of information, they have had 000,s of users adding to the database for many years now.

Going forward we should not need all this though, new VAG models have much improved ECU software and the new VAS OE tool we are working from now is much easier to use.

It still has the standard channels, login, adaptions etc but also a "Guided Function" mode which is much more like a normal scan tool menu with descriptions on live data, functions such as service reset are now chosen from a list of available functions (in plain english) in instrument cluster, no more "read/change" values.

We tested the latest V30 software version written in this way on some 2010 VW models recently and it was a big improvement, the VW engineer is on his way here to implement a lot more.

In time all the earlier car software will also be converted to this.

    Asked before for this, Andrew.
Most European Chrysler/Jeep models, seem to run on CCD, so needs the chrysler-16 adaptor. Cannot the V30, have the software, to counter this?
Also, there are hundreds of Jeep 2.7 CRD's around, with various problems, and MIL Light on, but V30, will not read the ECU. Tried Merc, and others, using same engine, but no success. Any chance of adding it?

HI CCD was only used up to about 2001 according to Chrysler.

Chrysler development was never a priority for SPX as they already have OTC scan tools for US market and did not want to develop the same software for both, this has changed now though so more US development is imminent I am told.

Surprised you cannot read CRD,s though, our warehouse guy had a 2007 Commander and V30 would read all systems except Engine/Trans due to V30 software being developed in US (no Diesels)

using Mercedes ML 163 (old model) software for engine/trans worked 100% though..
Have you tried OBD software on them?

    Hi Andrew.
Yes, tried everything, it just says 'connect chrysler-16 plug'.
This is third 2.7 CRD, i have tried. Its a 2003/2004 round spotlight later model too, i tried!!
But did a Jeep Grand 4.7, and had no problems. Just seems to be diesels!

HI, yes, software was developed in US and they have no diesels over there.

Did you try using the OBD 16 plus and ignoring the 'connect chrysler-16 plug' message?

Surprised to hear it asking for the Chrysler plug on that late a car?

We have not had stock of those for a while as no one ever asks for them but I could ask the engineers to bring some over if you want to try one?

Its not possible to alter the software to eliminate the use of the connector on CCD systems..

    Andrew
