    ive got a 2006 renault scenic with a parking brake problem yet the machine will not contect to the parking brake side of the car ? connects to everything else fine is this another software glitch ? i really need this sorted out as its my own car.

    i did a 2004 scenic 2 yesterday diesel and had no problems at all,good connection ,read codes and live data with no issues....

    you do have to have the ignition on..put the card in and press start button for 15 seconds

    so can anyone help with this ? Andrew ? my machine will not connect to the car and worse of all its my car i mean my £2,000 machine should connect to this whats the problem here ? the longer i leave it the more it looks like i will have to take this to renault for a diagnostic even though this function is on my machine it will not connect to the car on electric parking brake side !

    Are you sure it is a software issue? Could be a duff ECU, wiring, power supply, earth?

    When you get a no comms check to see if the ECU is powered up first...

    ECU is fine i can coonect to any other thing on the car except this handbrake ? airbag , abs, management no problem ? car drives fine yet its still showing this fault and i cannot connect to see what it is, which is annoying me now as its my car.

    Hi

    Just because you can connect to all other ECU,s doesn't mean you do not have a fault with comms lines or power supply etc, they are not on common k line a la VW...

    Never had a problem accessing this ECU on Scenic...anyone else had an issue?

    Just connected to 2005 SCENIC 2 and parking brake worked fine so must be a different ECU variant?

    On another note we then used the CLIP tool and noticed that there is a function to change from manual to Automatic function so thats on the list now..

    Renault engineer is here first week in may (flights permitting) so if we cannot find one is it possible to get access to yours for an hour or so?

    HI, RENAULT CLIP the OE tool as supplied to Dealer workshops by SPX.
    When REN engineer is here will give you a shout if we cant find one here.

    Hi

    CLIP starts at approx £2500 for the basic package plus mandatory £840 a year software license/support fee.

    oh a bargain then ! just so it will connect to the parking brake of my car ? i think the £90.00 renault are charging will be cheaper option even though my machine should connect.

    I sagest you to check under the driver seat there you find a big connector that safer from corrosion incase of water leak to the car

    Yes Clip is a bargain at £2500 for a full function Dealer tool when compared to others like BMW ISIS at approx £46,000...

    have checked under passenger seat where there is a fuse box and all is free from water theres nothing undser the drivers seat ?

    hi had a grand senic in today and could not connect to the hand brake but i am still useing v1.6 has this been sorted in the latest software thanks

    Hi, we cannot add this system until the engineers are here to log the vehicle, it is not a software glitch but a system not covered yet. I gather that there are a few different systems as we have managed to scan everyone we have tried.

    There was a 2005/2006 Renault Scenic recall on parking brakes in June 2010. I recently bought one and was advised to book into Renault dealer to get sorted.free.

    It's only on cars upto 2004
